My mom surprised me with these deliciously beautiful Protea cupcakes on my birthday. Proteas are by far my favourite flowers and I couldn't believe my eyes when she placed these beauties as a centre piece on the dinner table. Almost to lovely to eat... but we ate it anyway ;) Best mom ever! x

Ola friends :) Today is our 1 year wedding anniversary (Yay!), so I thought I’d share some more photos with you taken by our very talented friend & Creative Director, Carl Willoughby. This year was truly the best I’ve ever had, embarking on a new journey with my best friend, husband and soul mate, Renier. I feel like the luckiest girl alive and so blessed to share my life with such an inspiration of a man. I almost can’t believe it’s been a year already, but what a spectacular year it’s been and 18 February the best day of my life. Bring it on ;)  I do, I do, I do!

▲ Thoughts & Things for the new year

I'm not a big fan of setting unrealistic goals an making unnecessary New Year's Resolutions that will just make you feel guilty through the new year. But I do think it's important to sit back every now and again and think about what you want, what you're about and where you want to go. Nothing will change unless you change something. So here are a few thoughts and random things that I jotted down with regards to this wonderful new year ahead of me.

Get my hands dirty more

Do DIY projects &  give DIY gifts

Write more letters

Read magazines

Spoil people even though it's not their birthday

Keep on dancing

Do at least 5 Mountain biking races

Take the 1st step to doing my own thing one day (how exciting!)

Say no sometimes and not feel guilty about it

Go to Italy & Switzerland

Spend a little on myself for a change and not always on everyone else

Document more of my adventures & creations on my blog

Eat less bread (unless it's freshly baked of course)

Start Yoga. I'm so scared!

Bake a cake

Cook up a storm & share

Surprise my husband

Read a book (just kidding! That's a very unrealistic goal for me, I'll watch the movie)

Don't measure my idea of success and happiness to others'

Be grateful every single day

Straighten my hair less

Take more photos

Sleep in

Go to the dentist (I'm terrified of the dentist)

Spend more time with the most important people in my life

We had a nice little outing this weekend at Sun City. We went to do our first mountain biking race together. It was tough (especially after Oppikoppi last weekend), but lost of fun <3 This is us chilling with an ice cold beer on the fake beach at Sun City after the race. Lekker :)

Oh goodness I almost forgot to show you my new hair. It's actually time for a shave again, but here it is anyway :) I just got the one side shaved and I'm loving it :) It's nice. Much love <3

It was my birthday on 23 June, and what a blessed and spoilt day it was! Not only did I marry the most amazing man, he also organised me the most amazing cake :) We went away with 6 of our friends and had such a lekker partytjie. The cake or shall I say THE cake, was baked by Chocola.j in Northcliff, JHB. If you ever need anything baked, call these ladies. It was seriously a next level of pretty deliciousness <3 Rainbow in my belly.

I recently designed a wedding invitation for two of my friends, André & Marelie, who are getting married in September. I just LOVE doing wedding invitations! They are full of love and happiness and colour and pretty ribbons. I haven't been quite as excited about a gift in a long loooong time (except for my engagement ring ofcourse)! My super cool mom bought me these at an Antique market a little while ago, and I can't get enough of them. I think they are so rad. Happiness in a duck :) Now I just need to fix my 3 flying ducks for the wall <3 Thanks mom!

Here's a few snapshots of our recent long weekend in Cape Town. Once again we had to ask ourselves the very important question: "Why oh why don't we live here?" We still don't have an answer to that, but we're working on the problem. Jozi, New York, Cape Town, that seems like an exciting route to take :) Lets make it happen!

It's time for me to change my hair a bit and I think this is what I'm going to do. I love Ellie Gouldings' undercut. It's so pretty and now I want it too <3 Not too sure if I can do the fringe again, but I'll see when I get there. My appointment is only in a few weeks, but I will show you what it looks like :) Excited!

I'm so chuffed with my new Skinny Laminx cushion that we bought in Cape Town recently. Was so excited when I saw the shop, I new that I just have to buy something Laminx :) I fell in love with the cute red cow print and decided that it's coming home with me. These 3 pants had such a nice party in Stellenbosch this weekend. One of our friends got married at Skilpasdvlei just outside Stellenbosch and oh what fun to play in the Cape Winelands :) Here we are waiting around on the grass, having sushi snacks and drinks while the couple are taking photos x
